Kim Thompson – Board President
Kim began volunteering for New Beginnings Pregnancy Help Center in 2000 and joined the board in 2001. She has held the various roles of Treasurer, Vice President, and President of the Board over the past 22 years. This long tenure with the Center has provided Kim the opportunity to witness God’s passion for the unborn and His great faithfulness to the prayers of those who support this ministry.
Kim has more than 35 years of management and financial experience with success in the healthcare and oil & gas industries. Leveraging extensive experience in financial leadership for customer-centric organizations, she has contributed to both small and large-scale companies requiring expert assistance with process optimization, change management, cost containment, and revenue generation. Her broad areas of expertise include financial analysis, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, audits, internal controls, team building, and management.
Kim obtained her Masters in Accounting from Mississippi State University and her BA in Accounting from Delta State University. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional. She Currently lives in Cherokee Village with her husband of 35 years. Kim enjoys travel, water and snow skiing, long walks, and spending time with her Christian friends.

Danielle Treat – Member
Joining in February 2023, Danielle is one of the newest members of the New Beginnings PHC Board. She has been married to her husband, Charles Treat (a local youth pastor), for 16 years. Together they have a 13-year-old son and a 9-year-old daughter. Danielle has taught English for the Izard County School District for 15 years. In her few hours of spare time, she enjoys reading, hiking, swimming, and hanging out with her youth group. Danielle says that God has blessed her with a servant’s heart and a deep passion for the lost and hurting. When she was 15, she had the opportunity to volunteer with New Beginnings Pregnancy Help Center through their Second Chance Store.

Valarie Whisenand – Member
Valerie has lived in Fulton County since 1995 and began to support New Beginnings Pregnancy Help Center in various was as soon as she became familiar with the ministry. Being asked to join the Board of Directors was a happy surprise. It is a duty/ministry she takes very seriously.
A wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she has been retired from the outside workplace since 1988 and, writing as Valerie Hansen, is the author of over 80 Christian novels, many written in the old farmhouse she and her husband renovated.
